In Celebration of MHS Class of 1958

A Tribute and Celebration

We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.

Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

The Splendid Reunion

After the SPLENDID REUNION and visits with my brothers and their families in Meridian (where we also toured the MSU Riley Center and the Casteel Room of the L. O. Todd Library at MCC/MJC) we left from Jackson Evers Airport and flew to Baltimore Washington International. First we drove to Annapolis where we watched Pitt beat Navy : ( then home to Virginia to unpack and crash before Sunday church and a 2 o'clock committee meeting. Hit the ground running as they say. Now with some free time I find myself leafing through our reunion book and marveling again at how well we all turned out! Our parents and teachers did a pretty good job, don't you think. What interesting lives we've led...and eveyone seems to love their children and grands and God and their fellowman and growing up in the 50s. So what more could we ask for. Thank each and every one of you who came. If you weren't there you really missed something special. And how about that band!

TO THE COMMITTEE, HEARTFELT THANKS.
