In Celebration of MHS Class of 1958

A Tribute and Celebration

We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.

Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

This blog is a place for 1958 graduates of Meridian, Mississippi, High School to stay in touch, post their news, items of interest and photographs.

MAGICAL FAIRY RING

If You See a Fairy Ring

If you see a fairy ring
In a field of grass,
Very lightly step around,
Tip-Toe as you pass,
Last night Fairies frolicked there
And they’re sleeping somewhere near.
If you see a tiny fairy
Lying fast asleep]
Shut your eyes
And run away,
Do not stay to peek!
Do not tell
Or you’ll break a fairy spell.

(Author unknown)
I just had to share this sight from my front lawn with you. Does anyone know if they're edible? Comment below; click on the word "Comment."

Make Harry try them first! I am pretty sure they are poisonous.

Martha,
Get thee to a Brunos, quickly and leave the fairy ring alone. Where's Ewell Gibbons when we need him?

You don't want to learn the hard way that they shouldn't be eaten! Wonder who wrote that delightful poem? It reads like something written a couple hundred years ago, in England possibly.

sorry I forgot to type in my name on the above. I'm not "anonymous".

The site I pulled the poem from didn't attribute it to its author, but upon googling the words, I found that William Shakespeare is the author!!!
