We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.
Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

What a joy she was. I'm sure her optimism helped keep her going for so long. Thanks for finding this, David.
Why, we all are just babies!
They say that her blog crashed today because of so many hits. Hope it is up again soon. I would like to read.
MA and Ouida, I had no idea she was that old. Don't tell my wife, Kate, but I dated this chick last year. Olive said she was 98. We met on the internet and she told me to "come on down, mate." She said she knew how to play the didgeridoo and, boy, did she. !08, well, I'll be damned. I swear she didn't act that old. Naw, not her. She was a good dancer, too. The Samba, she called it. What a wild, wild woman! 108, my, my.
Smile, smile, smile
I have been watching her little "smile, smile, smile" video all during the day. One cannot help but smile as she sings. Her blog is back up - at least the first page.
