In Celebration of MHS Class of 1958

A Tribute and Celebration

We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.

Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

45th Reunion Booklet

I have "borrowed" space on one of my websites to give us a page to put information that is impossible to put on a blog, such as reunion booklets. Look near the top of this page and find the link: 45TH REUNION BOOKLET. Click. The link will take you to the new page where you will find the link to open the 45th reunion booklet. There is also a second link to a Word document (but the pages are all images).

Perhaps someone can send me a smaller file of the booklet. For example, if anyone has the 45th reunion booklet in a Word or other document format, please attach to an e-mail and send. A Word document would be much smaller and easier for everyone to open than what I have uploaded on the web page.

Later, if our committee will provide our 50th Reunion booklet in Word or other document format, I will upload it also to this page.

(You should not need this information, but the URL to web page is: http://www.concordiaministries.net/meridianhighwildcats58.htm Also, if you can hear the music, it may be too loud until I can adjust it. So turn speakers down.)

Ouida, this is a remarkable "tool" you've provided us. Now, if we can just get beyond the 6 or 7 classmates that participate, it'll be a great document for everyone to enjoy.

You know, right now we're like a little incestuous "chat room", stroking and otherwise supporting each other's efforts, while having a lot of fun doing so. My confidence in more classmate input is waning. If I can enter the "chat room" seeking to be a blog, a turtle can do it. It's not an "inner sanctum". It's actually painless and easy to enter. You have all the keys if, for some, the "door" is not easily opened. The weblog cannot broken... except by lack of varied content. I've stumbled around and you've always fixed anything I might have done incorrectly.

Thank you , Ouida, for your long hours and your skills. You're working, mourning the death of your dear pet, keeping house and writing for your various websites and religious blogs. And yet finding time to apply here.

I, for one, appreciate this.

Ouida, Thanks for posting the 45th Reunion Booklet. It sure helps to jog the memory cells.

I am aware of the effort and energy you are putting into the blog, trying to make the reunion one that will be more meaningful for everyone. Thanks for your efforts.

I do hope that others are aware of your dedication and will begin to show their appreciation by taking a more active part in the process. You have made it so easy for others.

Thank you both very much. You have been very, very supportive, and I've needed every minute of it. It has been a very difficult month, especially because of trying to save Poppy and then having to let him go last week.

It also has been a great month, having fun here. You have been great and made it all worthwhile.

John, I thought of you and others when I posted the reunion booklet as I know you probably lost yours in one of the hurricanes.

I'm still wondering how to make the file smaller. I'm going to experiment with compressing but fear not being able to read then. This is beyond my scope of expertise.

I'm going back to the recliner for the evening to sleep, read and TV. David, don't get into any trouble while I'm not looking. I'm going to post a movie for you - maybe - to keep you busy and to show you what happens to bad boys.
