In Celebration of MHS Class of 1958

A Tribute and Celebration

We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.

Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

Annie Wigransky

This is why I love the blog - it connects us to some of the nicest people and interesting sites. Here's what I received today from Annie's grandson. If you have stories her family would appeciate, I think it would be so "southern" to respond!

Hi, While doing Google/family tree research, I came across your MHS reunion blog and your comments about Annie Wigransky and the Blue Store. She was my grandmother (I'm Mickey Rafkin's son -- not sure if you remember him, he was probably 15+ years older than you). Glad to hear you had fond memories of Annie (I didn't know her well). If you (or any of your friends from that blog) have any interesting stories about her or my family, please email me. I hope you had fun at your reunion!

The Blue Store had such beautiful clothes but everything was so disorganized. Still, it was fun to dig.
