In Celebration of MHS Class of 1958

A Tribute and Celebration

We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.

Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

I sort of like the ideas of bear hugs - as opposed to electrifying hugs ... but I totally agree that Ouida deserves a whole bunch of hugs and thanks for all the work she has done to make the blog a success. It really is allowing people to share their stories and reconnect.

Thank you, Ouida. The several hundred hours you have donated to give full advantage to Jinny's great idea of bringing the class closer together is something for which the whole class owes you tribute.

I really appreciate your efforts. Since I'm so shy and withdrawn, this weblog has helped me... perhaps more than most.

And Mary Jane, I'm glad you realize a little glitz nourishes the soul.

Ouida, I especially appreciate all you do. I never would have even gotten on the blog if it wasn't for you. But I've been able to get some of the bios off the block by copying and simply pasting into the booklet. Very simple. Wish they would all send in their bios on here.

I appreciate the comments from all of you. I'm so glad that the blog is helping make your job easier, Beth. This is what I hoped for. I also want to thank you, Beth, for not giving up in learning how to post and comment and for asking for help. So many do not contact me for assistance. That makes me sad as all or almost all who are posting have needed a little help to get started.
