In Celebration of MHS Class of 1958

A Tribute and Celebration

We were the class of 1958, members of the Greatest Generation as well as children of the Greatest Generation. Born in 1940, we are also called members of the Traditional Generation.

Our childhood, post World War II, "was the best of times . . . it was the age of wisdom . . . it was the epoch of belief . . .it was the season of Light . . . it was the spring of hope . . . we had everything before us . . .we were all going direct to Heaven . . . ." (A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens.) At least, that's the way I felt about it. We were truly blessed.

J. T. "Tommy" Glover - Autobiography

After graduating from college, I married Sheri Baker. We had two children, a son, Michael Lee Glover, who now lives in Pensacola FL, and a daughter, Deidre Renee’ Rinaldi, who lives in Bass Harbor, Maine. Sheri and I were married for 26 years before our divorce. I have two precious grandchildren (Brandon Glover who lives in Lewiston, Maine and Amber Rinaldi who lives in Bass Harbor, Maine), two step-granddaughters (Dede Adams and Brooke Irvin) and two adorable step great grandchildren (Peyton and Pryce Adams), who live here in Butler, Alabama.

I traveled most of my career in sales, until I developed degenerative disc disease and was, more or less, forced to retire in 2003.

I married Orell Miles (MHS Class of ‘57) in April 1999. She was married for 37 years to the late Judge Charles Ford. We reside in Butler, Alabama where Orell has made her home for the past 51 years. She retired in 2001 from Regions Bank after 40 years as Human Resource Officer.

After retiring, we have been enjoying traveling to different areas of the country and working in and around our home, which is located on 15 acres, and keeps us busy.

I wish all my classmates the best life has to offer and good health. To Marty Davidson, thanks for being a good friend to me all these years.
