I think everyone who gathered yesterday on Zoom will say that it was fun and so gratifying to see our friends and share. For those who are wary of such a gathering, politics and other controversial subjects did not come up. That is a rule of this group. We simply shared our lives and personal stories along with news of other friends.
It was easy for me to tune in – I simply clicked the link that Tee provided and lo I was there with everyone. We are going to meet again in a month, on first Sunday at 5:00 EST. A notice will be sent out, and we hope more join us for this special time together. Thank you Anne and Tee for making this possible.
One of the things I shared on Zoom was about a very precious black woman from Mississippi. I discovered her this last Friday, thanks to a local friend on Face Book. By Saturday, I had added a page to the website of my Franciscan community, Our Lady of the Pearl. I told the Zoom group that I would send a link to her page so that they could learn about this spirited and strong woman. As many indicated in my research, she was a force to be reckoned, talented and with a beautiful singing voice. Her name was Sr. Thea Bowman, FSPA. She was a Franciscan sister and lived a remarkable life of love, service and joy.
