A slideshow of the canonical establishment of my Franciscan fraternity on August 23, 2008. Great music, especially "Down by the Riverside," by St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. This choir often performs at the New Orleans Jazz Fest and other events. The Mass at their church is truly a celebration in this mostly black church.

Ouida, as you know I viewed this video and its attendant music last evening. It was quite entertaining even to, maybe especially to, this heathen. I enjoyed it and think others would, too. I heartily recommend viewing it and the great music.
ReplyDeleteThanks, David. I appreciate your visiting the site. I hope the music conveys the joy of the day to everyone, even those who were not there or understand what was going on. We are still celebrating, meeting together for lunch today in Slidell.
ReplyDeleteThe guy you see near the beginning with two dogs is a Franciscan friar who drove 700 miles to be with us. He would not fly because of his dogs - he takes them with him everywhere. He is a very kind and humble man.
